The first-ever ‘Bronze Mole’ awards were presented on May 16 at the Lviv Cultural Hub, honoring outstanding contributions to investigative journalism in Ukraine.
This annual award, initiated by NGL.media, recognizes journalists who have made significant impacts in their field. The awards are named in memory of Oleksiy Shalaysky, the former editor of ‘Our Money,’ who passed away in October 2025.
The 2026 award recipients include:
- Antonina Volkotrub, an analyst at the Anti-Corruption Action Center, recognized for enhancing the quality of Ukrainian investigations through the promotion of OSINT culture and providing analytical support to the media community.
- Mykhailo Tkach, head of investigations at ‘Ukrainska Pravda,’ honored for his relentless and uncompromising investigative work that holds authorities accountable.
- Alisa Yurchenko, a journalist with The Kyiv Independent, acknowledged for her impactful journalism that combines in-depth analysis and bold conclusions, influencing security policy.
The ‘Bronze Mole’ aims to highlight the importance of investigative journalism in fostering transparency and accountability within society.
