Greece has officially become the 22nd country to join the coalition advocating for a Special Tribunal to address Russia’s acts of aggression against Ukraine. This announcement was made by Iryna Mudra, Deputy Head of the President’s Office, via Facebook.
Mudra expressed gratitude to both Finland and Greece for their commitment to the Extended Partial Agreement concerning the Steering Committee of the Special Tribunal. She emphasized that the coalition is steadily growing, marking a significant and timely step toward achieving a just and lasting peace.
The Council of Europe is set to take further action on May 14-15 in Chișinău, where it will finalize an agreement regarding the tribunal’s governing committee. The Ukrainian President’s Office has outlined the necessary steps to fully operationalize the Special Tribunal regarding the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
This coalition aims to ensure accountability for the ongoing conflict, as various European nations weigh their positions on the tribunal’s establishment. The upcoming discussions in Chișinău are expected to be pivotal in advancing this initiative.
