Electricity consumption in Ukraine has shown a notable increase, coinciding with ongoing blackouts in several regions due to military strikes. This information was reported by the national energy company, Ukrenergo.
As of June 3, at 09:30, electricity usage was recorded to be 10% higher compared to the same time the previous day. The rise in consumption is attributed to overcast weather conditions affecting much of the country, which has led to reduced efficiency of residential solar power systems and a corresponding increase in demand from the national grid.
Ukrenergo has urged consumers to use electricity judiciously throughout the day, specifically advising against the simultaneous use of multiple high-power appliances during peak evening hours, from 18:00 to 22:00.
Impact of Military Strikes
New power outages have been reported in the regions of Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia as a result of military actions. Emergency restoration efforts are underway in areas where safety conditions permit.
Electricity consumption in Ukraine is rising amid ongoing blackouts due to military strikes. Ukrenergo has called for careful energy use as weather conditions hinder solar power efficiency.
