Drone Strike Targets Oil Infrastructure in Krasnodar Region, Russia

A drone attack on April 9 has reportedly damaged oil infrastructure in the city of Krymsk, located in Russia’s Krasnodar region. Satellite images released by the Radio Free Europe project ‘Schemes’ show dark spots around a tank at the Krymsk linear production dispatch station (LPDS), suggesting a fire and potential structural damage.

According to Andriy Kovalенко, head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation, the drones targeted a key node in the oil pipeline system during the night. He confirmed that the LPDS plays a crucial role in transporting oil and petroleum products to the port of Novorossiysk and to local refineries.

Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported the drone strike, noting that debris from the attack resulted in the death of a man in the village of Sauk-Dere. However, Russian authorities have not officially acknowledged the damage to infrastructure.

As of now, there has been no official comment from Ukraine regarding this incident. Since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion, various sites within Russia have experienced airstrikes, with the Ukrainian General Staff confirming many of these attacks. They assert that Ukrainian defense forces are actively working to diminish the combat capabilities of Russian occupying forces and to compel Russia to cease its military aggression against Ukraine.

A recent drone strike in Krymsk, Krasnodar region, has reportedly caused damage to oil infrastructure, leading to one fatality. The incident highlights ongoing tensions and military actions in the region since the start of the conflict.
