Trump indicated he might support European allies on the Ukraine issue, but he seeks assistance in stabilizing the situation regarding Iran in return. “The discussions we had, both in formal meetings and informal talks, give me a sense of optimism,” said German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
The U.S. president is prepared to exert pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to cease aggression, but he has made it clear that support for Ukraine comes with conditions.
