Robert Fico, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, arrived in Moscow, where he referred to himself as the “black sheep” of the European Union. He announced plans for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss “practical issues.”

“There is always a black sheep in the European Union. I belong to that flock. I say this everywhere… I oppose any enforced singular opinion,” Fico stated.
During his visit, Fico laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin, honoring the victims of the former Soviet Union in their fight against fascism. He confirmed his intention to have a personal conversation with Putin the following day to convey specific messages from European politicians.
Fico also expressed his support for any form of ceasefire and conveyed his belief that the “Russian-Ukrainian story” is approaching its conclusion.
