Russian Cargo Ship Capsizes in the Sea of Azov, Casualties Reported

A Russian vessel named “Volgo-Balt” has capsized in the Sea of Azov near the temporarily occupied Kherson region. The incident resulted in one confirmed fatality, while some crew members managed to reach the shore, and two individuals are currently missing.

This information comes from Vladimir Saldo, the Kremlin-appointed head of the occupied portion of Kherson. He reported that the ship was transporting a cargo of wheat when it encountered difficulties.

According to Russian sources, nine crew members, all of whom are Russian citizens, were found on the shore. Efforts are ongoing to locate the two missing individuals.

The origin of the wheat cargo has not been officially clarified. However, Ukraine has previously accused Russia of exporting grain from occupied territories and mixing it with its own exports, a claim that Moscow has consistently denied.

A Russian cargo ship carrying wheat capsized in the Sea of Azov, resulting in one death and two crew members missing. The incident has raised questions about the ship's cargo origin amid ongoing tensions over grain exports from occupied territories.
