In Poland, activists have initiated a fundraising campaign to acquire used buses from the city of Kielce, aiming to send them to Vinnytsia, Ukraine. As of the night of June 12, over 150,000 zlotys have been collected.
The Sikorki na Ukrainie foundation launched the campaign on the Zrzutka.pl platform, targeting a goal of 500,000 zlotys to purchase 15 buses, each approximately 17 years old. Without this intervention, the buses risk being left on the lot or scrapped.
If the buses cannot be delivered, the funds raised will instead be allocated to protect civilians in Ukraine from Russian air attacks.

Background of Controversy
Previously, Vinnytsia’s mayor, Serhiy Morgunov, withdrew a request for the buses following a political scandal in Kielce. Some local Polish politicians attempted to link the aid to a demand for renaming a street after Stepan Bandera, but the vote on this proposal failed. Despite this, the controversy led to the withdrawal of the official request, prompting Polish activists to take independent action.
Activists in Poland are raising funds to purchase used buses for Vinnytsia, Ukraine, amid a backdrop of political controversy. The initiative seeks to gather 500,000 zlotys to support this humanitarian effort.
