Hungary’s New Prime Minister Calls for President’s Resignation

In a bold move during his inaugural address, Hungary’s newly appointed Prime Minister, Péter Magyar, urged President Tamás Sulok to resign. This call came shortly after Magyar took his oath of office at the first session of the new parliament.

During his speech, Magyar criticized Sulok for failing to oppose the missteps of the previous administration. He highlighted significant issues, including the erosion of democratic principles and the harsh treatment of children in state-run orphanages.

“It’s time to leave with dignity while there’s still a chance,” Magyar stated, setting a resignation deadline of May 31.

Péter Magyar, Hungary's new Prime Minister, has called for President Tamás Sulok to resign, citing failures in addressing past government errors. He emphasized the need for accountability and set a deadline for the president's departure.
