Ukraine to Launch Electronic Queue System for Vehicles

The Ukrainian government is set to introduce an electronic queue system for vehicles, aiming to enhance border crossing efficiency. This initiative will particularly focus on passenger cars and expand functionalities for trucks and buses.

The service for passenger vehicles is expected to be operational by June. Drivers will be able to register for the queue through the “DiiA” app, as well as via the official website and the mobile application “yeChereha.” This service will be available to both Ukrainian citizens and foreign nationals.

Additionally, an automatic verification system for the “Green Card” insurance policy will be implemented for all vehicle types.

For freight transport, updates will be made to the priority crossing system. This will include integration with customs documents T1 and MDP books, providing priority access for authorized economic operators.

“yeChereha has already demonstrated its effectiveness, with over 3 million border crossings for trucks and buses through online registration. The next step is to expand the service for private vehicles while enhancing functionalities for businesses,”

stated Kuleba.

It is important to note that since the onset of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the “Shlyakh” system was introduced, allowing drivers of humanitarian cargo to cross the border. Military lawyer Danilo Honcharenko explained that as of 2025, the rules have changed: drivers of humanitarian transport no longer receive separate permits and cross the border under general conditions. Currently, “Shlyakh” is only available for licensed carriers, with all documents verified through state registries.

Ukraine is preparing to launch an electronic queue system for vehicles to streamline border crossings, with services for both passenger and freight transport expected to roll out soon. This initiative follows the earlier implementation of the "Shlyakh" system for humanitarian transport.
