OpenAI has initiated a significant update for ChatGPT, introducing a comprehensive task scheduling function designed for future planning.
Previously, users were required to manually input prompts to receive updated information or analysis. The new Scheduled section will now be accessible in the interface’s sidebar.
This hub allows users to view all active future tasks assigned to the AI. From this page, users can pause tasks, edit request conditions, or completely delete them.
The architecture for processing deferred prompts has been substantially upgraded, enhancing both speed and reliability. When creating a task, users can specify an exact time (e.g., 9:00 AM) or a broader time frame such as morning, afternoon, or evening.

Another notable feature of this update is proactive monitoring. Users can configure the AI to autonomously search for information online or check data from connected third-party applications at specified times, subsequently generating a report.
With the launch of the scheduler, OpenAI has announced the discontinuation of the Pulse feature, which provided personalized daily news summaries introduced last year.
Premium Pro subscribers will have access to Pulse for an additional 14 days before it is phased out.
Users are encouraged to set up automated prompts through the new calendar hub for creating daily digests and summaries in the future.
Currently, the Scheduled feature is available for users on paid plans, including Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise. OpenAI has not yet disclosed when this functionality will be accessible to free account holders.
