Ukrainian Strike Destroys Fuel Tank in Occupied Crimea

A recent drone strike by Ukrainian forces has resulted in the destruction of a fuel tank at a storage facility in Feodosia, Crimea, which is currently under Russian occupation. This incident occurred during the night of April 23, as confirmed by satellite imagery.

According to reports from Radio Free Europe’s Ukrainian service, this strike is part of a series of attacks targeting the facility since the onset of the full-scale war. Over 20 fuel tanks have been completely destroyed in these repeated assaults.

On April 23, a correspondent from Radio Free Europe reported ongoing fires at the Feodosia oil transfer complex, noting that thick black smoke was drifting toward the sea. Additionally, access routes near the oil depot and bus station were reportedly blocked.

The Russian-controlled authorities in Feodosia acknowledged the road closures but did not specify the reasons behind these measures. As of the same day, there have been no updates from the Russian authorities in Crimea regarding the aftermath of the strikes.

Since 2022, the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula has faced near-daily attacks involving drones and missiles. The Russian Ministry of Defense and local authorities often refrain from confirming hits on military installations, even when such information can be verified.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has stated that these operations are part of a systematic strategy to diminish the combat capabilities of Russian occupying forces and to compel Russia to cease its military aggression against Ukraine.

A Ukrainian drone strike on April 23 has destroyed a fuel tank in Feodosia, Crimea, as part of ongoing attacks on Russian-controlled infrastructure. This incident highlights the sustained military efforts by Ukraine to undermine Russian military operations in the region.
