The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) have reported the destruction of a railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal in occupied Crimea during strikes on June 22 and 23. This operation was conducted in collaboration with local resistance groups.
According to the SSO, the bridge, located near the village of Rozdolne, served as a crucial military-logistical route for Russian forces. It facilitated the movement of supplies and military resources from Russia into Crimea and supported the functioning of military infrastructure within the peninsula.
The SSO detailed that their drones successfully targeted the bridge on the night of June 22, resulting in damage to both the railway track and the collapse of one of its spans. In response to this attack, local resistance operatives reported the arrival of specialized repair equipment at the site. The second phase of the mission commenced on June 23, during which SSO drones struck both the repair machinery and the remnants of the bridge.
As of now, the Russian-controlled authorities in Crimea have not commented on these developments. Prior reports from Ukrainian monitoring channels and Russian Ministry of Defense updates indicated that Ukrainian drones conducted a second attack on Crimea within three days on the night of June 23.
Telegram channel “Crimean Wind” cited subscribers who reported explosions in Feodosia, Kerch, Krasnoperekopsk, and near the city of Shcholkine. Additionally, the Supernova+ channel noted that drones targeted a fuel depot in Kerch, the TES-Terminal oil transshipment and storage complex, and the “Kavkaz” port on the Russian side of the Kerch Strait. Satellite images referenced by “Crimean Wind” indicated new fire outbreaks at the oil terminal in the “Kavkaz” port.
Reports from Telegram channels, corroborated by NASA FIRMS satellite imagery, also indicated fires at the “Nasosna-2” substation, the “Southern” railway station in Kerch, and in the vicinity of the thermal power plant in Arshyntseve. The Crimean energy company “Krymenergo” reported power outages in parts of the peninsula, including Yevpatoria and Dzhankoy, following the strikes on Kerch.
Since 2022, Crimea has frequently been targeted by drones and missiles. In most instances, the Russian Ministry of Defense or local authorities have not confirmed hits on military sites, even when such information has been verified.
The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces have successfully targeted a strategic railway bridge in Crimea, disrupting Russian military logistics. This operation, part of a broader campaign of drone strikes, highlights ongoing tensions in the region.
