In the early hours of June 9, Ukrainian military units executed a drone operation that resulted in significant damage to the Chonhar Bridge, effectively rendering it inoperable and disrupting transportation links.
This information was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a post from the 1st Separate Assault Battalion of the Ukrainian Ground Forces on Facebook.
The operation involved the use of FP-2 drones and was carried out by the Phalanx Multi-Domain Operations Center, the 1st Separate Assault Battalion named after Dmytro Kotsiubailo, and the 475th Separate Assault Battalion known as CODE 9.2.
The Chonhar Bridge had initially sustained damage on June 7, when part of the roadway was compromised. Following the latest strike, the infrastructure was completely incapacitated, leading to a prolonged closure of the transport route.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, including any attempts to initiate repair work. They have indicated readiness to conduct further strikes should there be efforts to restore the logistical route.
Ongoing operations under the FrontStrike initiative are focused on targeting logistical infrastructure, with the latest attack on the Chonhar Bridge being a critical component of these efforts.
The Chonhar Bridge serves as a vital connection between the temporarily occupied Crimea and mainland Ukraine. Following the drone strike, traffic on the bridge has been entirely halted, with occupying authorities advising the use of alternative routes.
Reports from occupying structures confirm that the strike was detected over the Sivash Bay crossing, and transportation across the bridge remains blocked.
Ukrainian forces have carried out a drone strike on the Chonhar Bridge, causing complete traffic disruption. This follows an earlier attack and highlights ongoing military operations targeting logistical routes.
