Ukrainian Drone Commander Warns of Potential Bloodshed in New Russian Offensive

Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, the commander of Ukraine’s drone forces, has stated that a renewed attempt by Russia to seize Kyiv would likely result in unprecedented bloodshed. He emphasized that modern technology and the widespread use of drones have fundamentally altered warfare, rendering traditional blitzkrieg tactics ineffective.

Brovdi assessed the likelihood of a new offensive on Kyiv, suggesting that even Russia’s substantial armored capabilities would not guarantee success. He noted that the extensive deployment of drones has dramatically shifted the dynamics on the battlefield.

During any attempt to advance on Kyiv, Russian tanks would face significant drone attacks, according to Brovdi. He remarked that contemporary warfare diverges sharply from classic military campaigns of previous decades, making rapid offensive operations nearly impossible.

The commander highlighted that Ukraine is among the nations shaping a new military doctrine. Currently, drones account for approximately 80% of battlefield casualties, gradually replacing traditional armored vehicles and infantry weaponry.

Brovdi also expressed concerns that NATO countries have yet to fully adapt to the new realities of warfare. He pointed out that many Western military leaders received training prior to the era of extensive drone usage.

He urged allies to develop modern systems that integrate video data, photographs, target coordinates, and confirmation of hits. Brovdi concluded by stating that he sees no immediate prospects for a swift resolution to the conflict.

“I have no illusions about the possibility of ending the war anytime soon. If it does come to an end, it will likely be a pause linked to some agreement or geopolitical circumstances,” he said.

Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's drone forces, warns that a new Russian offensive on Kyiv could lead to significant casualties. He highlights the transformative role of drones in modern warfare and expresses skepticism about a quick resolution to the ongoing conflict.
