Serhii Beskrestnov, an advisor to Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, revealed the destruction of his home following a drone attack attributed to Russian forces. On April 21, Beskrestnov posted images showing the charred remains of his residence, a destroyed vehicle, and evidence of a significant fire.
In his post, he expressed his disbelief at losing everything he had accumulated over two decades, stating, “In an instant, I am left with nothing—no home, no cars, no belongings. I am currently in a cast and likely will be for some time. Right now, I need to focus on my family, but physically, I cannot.” He also thanked supporters for their assistance during this difficult time.
Beskrestnov reported that five Shahed drones were directed at his residence during the attack, which occurred overnight on April 20. He described the incident as a targeted assassination attempt, suggesting that the operation was coordinated in real-time from Russian territory.
Ukrainian defenders managed to intercept two of the drones, while the remaining two reached the outskirts of Kyiv. Reports indicate that the Shahed drones were controlled remotely via a mesh network, allowing them to communicate with one another and function as relay systems.
