Ukraine Intercepts Majority of Drones in Overnight Assault

In the early hours of April 4, Ukraine faced a significant drone attack from Russia, involving 93 strike drones launched from six different locations. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted the majority of these unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Between 6:00 PM on April 4 and the morning of April 5, Russian forces deployed drones including the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas models. The drones were launched from various regions, including Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.

Approximately 60 of the drones used in the attack were identified as Shahed models. The Ukrainian defense utilized a combination of aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups to counter the assault.

As of 8:00 AM, preliminary reports indicated that Ukrainian air defenses had downed or suppressed 76 enemy drones, including those of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, across northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.

The attack resulted in confirmed strikes from 17 drones across 10 locations, with debris from intercepted drones landing in three areas. The Ukrainian Air Force issued a warning, stating, “The attack continues, and several enemy drones remain in the airspace. Please adhere to safety regulations!”

Ukraine's air defense forces successfully intercepted a large portion of the 93 drones launched by Russia in a recent overnight attack. The operation involved multiple drone types and was met with a robust response from Ukrainian military units.
