The Tuapse Oil Refinery, primarily focused on export, has nearly ceased operations after drone strikes on April 16 and 20 caused significant damage to its infrastructure.
According to sources within Russia, the attacks severely impacted transportation facilities at the port, leading to fires in fuel storage areas that have proven difficult to extinguish.
The extensive fires have halted the loading of oil products, effectively stopping the refinery’s operations. However, sources have declined to provide any estimates regarding when the facility might resume normal functioning, citing safety concerns.
The Tuapse Oil Refinery has the capacity to process approximately 12 million tons of oil annually, equating to about 240,000 barrels per day. The facility primarily produces oil, diesel fuel, heavy fuel oil, and vacuum gas oil, with most of its output designated for export.
The Tuapse Oil Refinery has suspended operations due to drone attacks that damaged critical infrastructure and caused fires. The timeline for resuming operations remains unclear amid ongoing safety concerns.
