Trump to Attend G7 Meeting with Ukraine’s Zelensky in France

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to participate in a working session of the G7 summit alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Évian, France, on June 16. However, a formal bilateral meeting between the two leaders is not on the agenda, according to a senior administration official.

The official, speaking anonymously, confirmed that Trump will engage with G7 leaders and Zelensky during the morning session. “President Zelensky will certainly be present at the session we are conducting. They may very well encounter each other in the hallways,” the official stated.

The G7 summit is scheduled to take place from June 15 to 17, with Trump planning to hold separate discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron, as well as leaders from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and India.

Additionally, Trump is expected to have dinner with Macron at the Palace of Versailles on the evening of June 17, following the conclusion of the summit. According to Macron’s office, this dinner will commemorate the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, marking a significant moment in Franco-American relations, as it aligns with the signing of the treaty establishing U.S. independence in 1783.

President Trump will join Ukrainian President Zelensky at the G7 summit in France, although no formal meeting is scheduled. The summit will also feature discussions with various world leaders and a dinner honoring U.S. independence.
