A nighttime assault in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district has resulted in multiple casualties and reports of individuals trapped in a business center’s shelter. Emergency services are currently on the scene responding to the situation.
The attack, which occurred on May 24, involved Russian forces utilizing drones and missiles, including ballistic weapons. The assault led to significant damage across various areas of the capital, with several high-rise buildings affected.
Among the impacted structures were two schools in the Shevchenkivskyi district. One of the schools experienced a collapse at the entrance to its shelter, where individuals were taking refuge.
As a result of the drone strikes, a nine-story residential building was also hit, igniting a fire between the eighth and ninth floors. Tragically, at least one individual has been reported deceased.
Rescue teams are actively working to free those trapped in the aftermath of the strikes, as fires continue to burn in multiple locations throughout Kyiv and its surrounding areas.
