Russian Strikes Hit Dnipro Again, Casualties Reported

On April 25, Russian forces launched another attack on Dnipro, damaging a residential building and injuring several individuals, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the regional military administration.

Hanzha confirmed that one person lost their life due to the strike, which targeted the same residential area that had been attacked earlier that night.

Earlier reports indicated that 27 people had been injured, with four fatalities already confirmed from a prior assault on the city. The night attack resulted in fires and significant damage to local businesses, with a four-story building partially destroyed and multiple other residential structures affected.

Russian military operations have increasingly utilized drones and missiles to target Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure across various regions. Ukrainian authorities and international organizations have classified these attacks as war crimes, emphasizing their deliberate nature.

Attacks on essential services and healthcare facilities are viewed as attempts to deprive civilians of electricity, heating, water, communication, and medical assistance, raising concerns about potential genocidal actions. Legal experts and human rights advocates argue that these assaults reflect a broader pattern of violence against the Ukrainian population.

Since the onset of the full-scale war, various forms of aggression against Ukrainian citizens have been reported, including public calls for violence and systematic targeting of pro-Ukrainian individuals in occupied territories. The destruction of cultural heritage and the forced deportation of children have also been highlighted as part of these actions.

The UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, adopted in 1948, obligates member states to prevent and punish acts of genocide during both wartime and peacetime.

Despite the overwhelming evidence, Russian officials continue to deny that their military is intentionally targeting civilian infrastructure, claiming that these strikes are not aimed at harming the civilian population.

On April 25, Dnipro faced renewed Russian strikes, resulting in casualties and extensive damage to residential buildings. The ongoing attacks have raised serious concerns about war crimes and potential genocidal actions against the Ukrainian population.
