Russian Drone Strike Claims Lives of Three in Sumy Region

On the morning of June 22, Russian forces launched a drone strike on a residential home in the Sumy region, resulting in the deaths of three family members, including a 13-year-old boy.

The attack occurred around 4:50 AM in the Znob-Novgorod community, located in the Shostka district. According to investigative reports, the drone targeted the home of civilians.

In addition to the fatalities, a 31-year-old mother, a 10-year-old brother, and a 13-year-old sister sustained injuries. All injured individuals are currently receiving necessary medical care.

Authorities, including prosecutors and law enforcement, are documenting the aftermath of the attack and gathering evidence. A preliminary investigation has been initiated concerning potential war crimes leading to loss of life, as outlined in Article 438 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code.

This article stipulates penalties ranging from 10 to 15 years of imprisonment, with life sentences applicable in cases of intentional murder.
