Russia Launches Coordinated Strikes in Dnipropetrovsk Region

On April 17, Russian forces conducted a series of attacks in the Dnipropetrovsk region, employing drones, artillery, and missiles in over 20 separate strikes. The assaults resulted in significant damage to local infrastructure.

In Dnipro, the affected sites included a trolleybus depot, a residential high-rise building, and a commercial facility. Visual evidence shared by local authorities depicted the destruction, including a damaged trolleybus, highlighting the impact on urban infrastructure.

Additionally, the Novooleksandrivska community within the Dnipro district experienced damage to a gymnasium, a private residence, and a vehicle. Reports indicate that two men sustained injuries during these strikes.

In the Nikopol area, Russian forces targeted several communities, including Nikopol, Marganets, Myrivka, Chervonohryhorivka, and Pokrov. The attacks resulted in damage to residential buildings, agricultural enterprises, and other critical infrastructure.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that a fire broke out at the trolleybus depot due to the strikes, but it has since been extinguished.

Meanwhile, in Chernihiv region, Russian attacks struck energy facilities, leaving over 6,000 households without electricity. Restoration efforts are on hold until the area is deemed safe.

Ukrainian intelligence has indicated a potential new offensive by Russian forces. Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, stated that Russia is mobilizing an additional 20,000 troops to the southeastern front, supplementing the nearly 680,000 soldiers already present in Ukraine.

Russian forces carried out extensive strikes in the Dnipropetrovsk region, damaging key infrastructure and injuring civilians. The attacks coincide with reports of troop reinforcements by Russia in southeastern Ukraine.
