Ukrainian Railways has reported an attack on passenger train equipment in the Mykolaiv region, resulting in damage to a locomotive and two railcars. Fortunately, no passengers or railway staff were injured during the incident.
The attack targeted the passenger train equipment while it was stationed in Mykolaiv. Following the strike, both the locomotive and two accompanying railcars sustained damage.
Officials from Ukrainian Railways confirmed that at the time of the attack, all individuals were in a safe location, preventing any injuries.
After the air raid alert concluded, railway workers quickly sourced a backup locomotive to restore train services. Consequently, train service No. 101/102 from Mykolaiv to Lozova departed with a delay of 2 hours and 11 minutes. Similarly, train No. 206 from Mykolaiv to Kherson left 1 hour and 11 minutes later than scheduled.
Despite the recent attack, train operations in frontline regions continue. The company emphasized its commitment to passenger transport even amid ongoing threats. “We do not halt services in frontline areas but urge passengers to remain vigilant and heed the instructions of train crews,” they stated.
