Mykolaiv Targeted Again by Drone Strikes Amid Ongoing Threats

Mykolaiv has once again come under drone attack from Russian forces, resulting in damage to residential areas and an apartment building. The incident occurred on the same day, igniting a fire at the site.

According to local authorities, significant damage was reported to both private homes and multi-story buildings. Fortunately, there have been no casualties reported so far.

The air raid alert in the region remains active, indicating a continued risk of further strikes. City officials are urging residents to stay in shelters for their safety.

“I ask everyone to adhere to safety protocols: remain in shelters, avoid approaching impact sites and debris. Please do not film or post anything online. This is a matter of safety,” emphasized the mayor.

Residents of affected buildings are advised to report damages to the municipal architecture and construction control office. They can submit claims at the following address: Kherson Highway, 48/8. For inquiries, they can reach out via email at dabimk@mkrada.gov.ua or call the consultation numbers 53-31-18 and 53-31-25.

In recent weeks, the intensity of attacks on southern Ukraine has escalated, with Russian forces employing a combination of ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones. The aim appears to be to inflict damage on both civilian and critical infrastructure.

Notably, on April 30, 2026, a large-scale assault was launched on Odesa, featuring two waves of attacks. Russian forces deployed an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 206 strike drones from multiple directions.

Ukrainian air defense managed to intercept most of the incoming threats, but over 30 impacts resulted in significant destruction, particularly in the Primorsky district. Residential areas, a shopping center, and a kindergarten were among the damaged sites, and a five-story building and a private home were destroyed.

As a result of these attacks, several individuals sustained injuries, with four reported wounded, including some in serious condition. Additionally, strikes on energy facilities have left parts of Mykolaiv Oblast without power, further indicating a systematic effort by the aggressors to destabilize the southern region of Ukraine.

Mykolaiv faced renewed drone strikes from Russian forces, damaging residential areas without reported casualties. The ongoing air raid alerts highlight the persistent threat in the region as attacks on southern Ukraine intensify.
