Massive Attacks Target Russian Military and Energy Infrastructure in Crimea

A series of significant attacks occurred in Crimea on June 24, impacting both military installations and energy facilities. The strikes primarily affected Sevastopol, where the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant was hit, plunging the city into darkness.

Local authorities confirmed the attacks, with Sevastopol’s acting governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev, announcing a special regime in the city as emergency services assessed the damage. The blackout affected the entire area, leaving residents without power.

In addition to the energy disruptions, fires were reported near the village of Shafranne, located west of the Gvardeyskoye military airfield, known for its use by Russian forces for launching attack drones.

Shortly after 4:20 AM, explosions were reported in Bakhchisarai, where munitions storage facilities belonging to the 133rd separate logistics brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet caught fire. This brigade is responsible for supplying food, fuel, and ammunition to Russian troops.

Simultaneously, residents in Kerch reported multiple explosions throughout the night, with significant blasts heard at 2:08 AM, 2:23 AM, and again around 3:34 AM and 3:36 AM. Satellite imagery revealed two large fire outbreaks in a Russian military compound south of Kerch.

Following the explosions, Simiferopol experienced increased fluctuations in power supply, with extended outages affecting several villages in the Krasnohvardiyske district.

In a related operation, Ukrainian special forces successfully destroyed a strategic railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal near the village of Rozdolne. This operation unfolded in two phases, with drones targeting the bridge on the night of June 22, followed by a second strike on the remaining structure and repair equipment the following night.

Additionally, drone units conducted a large-scale operation, hitting over 60 significant military targets across Crimea in one night.

Recent attacks in Crimea have severely impacted Russian military and energy infrastructure, leading to widespread power outages and significant fires. Ukrainian forces executed a successful operation against a key railway bridge, further escalating tensions in the region.
