The Kremlin has expressed skepticism regarding the implementation of agreements reached during recent negotiations in Anchorage, emphasizing its commitment to achieving its own objectives.
According to Yuri Ushakov, an aide to President Vladimir Putin, Russia’s stance remains unchanged and is rooted in principles previously articulated by the government. “We do not expect these agreements to be fulfilled; we are focused on our victory and the realization of our own goals,” Ushakov stated.
He further claimed that the promises made by Russia during the Anchorage talks were based on a firm position that has not altered. Ushakov also pointed out that, as of now, only one party appears to be adhering to the agreements made.
While he did not specify which party he was referring to, he suggested that the other side has proven to be “not quite capable of fulfilling its part of the deal.” He remarked, “Currently, one side continues to uphold the agreements discussed in Anchorage, while the other side, it seems, has not been able to meet its commitments.”
The Kremlin has cast doubt on the likelihood of fulfilling agreements made in Anchorage, with officials asserting that only one party is adhering to the terms. Russia remains focused on its own strategic goals, according to statements from a senior aide to President Putin.
