Temporary Suspension of Children’s Holiday Programs in Crimea Announced

Serhiy Aksyonov, the head of the occupying authorities in Crimea, has announced a temporary suspension of children’s holiday programs from June 22 to September 1, 2026. This decision affects the booking and accommodation of children in recreational facilities across the region.

Aksyonov made the announcement via social media, stating, “From 11:00 on June 22 until September 1, 2026, a temporary suspension will be implemented for the booking of places and the reception and accommodation of children and groups of children in children’s recreation and health facilities located in the Republic of Crimea, as well as in other accommodation facilities for participation in various tourism and other events.”

He urged the public to understand the necessity of these measures, citing public safety as the primary concern. This directive comes amid ongoing challenges related to energy supply and other logistical issues in the region.

Prior to this announcement, Crimea had already implemented electricity consumption schedules due to ongoing power supply problems. Additionally, the occupying authorities had announced new restrictions on gasoline sales, limiting purchases to representatives of the occupying government only.
