NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has outlined the anticipated outcomes for Ukraine at the upcoming NATO summit next month. His comments come in the wake of positive discussions during the recent G7 meeting in France.
Rutte emphasized that the alliance’s primary focus will be on addressing Ukraine’s needs in its ongoing conflict. He specifically mentioned the importance of military equipment, including American interceptors for the Patriot missile system.
“I am confident that together we will provide you with everything necessary to the extent that Europeans and Americans can assist you in defending yourselves,” Rutte stated.
In addition to military support, Rutte indicated that ensuring adequate funding will also be a key priority. He noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to have a busy schedule of meetings during the NATO summit in Ankara, although he will not meet with all 32 leaders in attendance.
Furthermore, Zelensky has reported that U.S. President Donald Trump has shown support for Ukraine’s request for additional Patriot missiles. However, Washington has yet to make a final decision on this matter.
Lockheed Martin has also warned its clients about potential difficulties in supplying PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot systems, which are currently crucial for strengthening Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has outlined the alliance's commitment to supporting Ukraine at the upcoming summit, focusing on military supplies and funding.
