In the early hours of June 13, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck an oil preparation and pumping facility located near the settlement of Kotovo in Russia’s Volgograd region, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The military confirmed that the target was hit, resulting in a fire at the site. This facility is responsible for the preparation, transportation, and pumping of oil through main pipelines to refineries and export infrastructure within Russia. It specifically processes oil from the Korobkovskoye oil and gas field and adjacent fields in the Volgograd and Astrakhan regions, as well as the Republic of Kalmykia.
Additionally, the Ukrainian command reported successful strikes on command points of Russian forces in the areas of Soledar in Donetsk and Verkhnia Krynytsia in Zaporizhzhia. The strikes also targeted drone command centers in the Bryansk region, as well as in Verkhnia Krynytsia, Voskresenka in Donetsk, and Novomykolaivka in Kherson.
“The Defense Forces of Ukraine are systematically implementing measures aimed at reducing the combat potential of Russian occupation forces and compelling Russia to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff stated.
Radio Free Europe is unable to independently verify the claims regarding these strikes.
Russian military officials have not reported any damage to military targets as a result of these attacks. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion by Russia, various sites within Russia and occupied territories in Ukraine have been subjected to aerial strikes.
