YouTube Removes Videos Promoting Alabuga Polytechnic Amid Legal Scrutiny

YouTube has taken down numerous videos advertising Alabuga Polytechnic, a college known for its involvement in drone production. According to blogger Oleksiy Hubanov, at least 61 videos have been removed from the platform.

Hubanov speculates that the removals were prompted by a legal complaint, suggesting that a governmental body or authorized organization may have initiated the action. He also noted that the Alabuga Polytechnic channel appears to be inactive, raising concerns about its status since it was operational in 2025.

In addition to YouTube’s actions, TikTok has also blocked accounts of influencers promoting Alabuga Polytechnic, including those with substantial followings. This follows a similar wave of account suspensions on Twitch.

Alabuga Polytechnic is located in a special economic zone in Tatarstan and has gained notoriety for its production of Iranian Shahed drones since the onset of the ongoing conflict. The college reportedly employs minors who have enrolled after completing their ninth grade. The head of the institution has promised salaries of up to 500,000 rubles for those involved in drone assembly. The college is currently under European Union sanctions.

YouTube's removal of videos related to Alabuga Polytechnic reflects increasing scrutiny over the college's activities in drone production. This action, alongside TikTok's account suspensions, highlights growing concerns regarding the institution's operations amid international sanctions.
