Zelensky expressed optimism about the E3 nations’ commitment to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities, particularly in the realm of anti-ballistic technology. He stated, “We are working on this. It is needed for us, and it is needed for the United Kingdom.” This collaboration aims to enhance Ukraine’s defense against ongoing threats.
During the discussions, Zelensky highlighted the consensus among E3 leaders regarding the need to intensify sanctions against Russia. He noted that all parties acknowledged the importance of a unified response to the ongoing conflict.
The backdrop to these discussions includes Zelensky’s recent communication with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, where he outlined Ukraine’s military needs amid the ongoing war with Russia. Zelensky also briefed the leaders of the E3 on the current battlefield situation and Russian losses.
In addition, France is reportedly organizing another meeting of the “Coalition of the Resolute” in Paris on July 13-14, aimed at addressing the ongoing crisis and coordinating efforts among allied nations.
This initiative reflects a broader strategy by Ukraine to strengthen its defense posture and secure international support in light of the protracted conflict with Russia, which has seen significant military engagements and geopolitical tensions.
