Phishing Website Masquerades as Ukrainian Government App to Steal User Data

A phishing website posing as the official Ukrainian application “Diia” has been identified, aiming to extract personal data from users by encouraging them to download a fraudulent app. This information was confirmed by the Diia team on their official communication channels.

The fraudulent site featured a domain similar to the legitimate Diia website, misleading users into believing they were downloading the official application. In reality, the app was malicious and designed to gain access to sensitive personal information.

The Diia team acted swiftly to block the dangerous site, reiterating that the official application is only available through the App Store and Google Play, with the legitimate portal being diia.gov.ua.

Cybersecurity experts are urging users to avoid clicking on suspicious links and to refrain from downloading files from unknown sources. The prevalence of phishing sites has increased, making a critical approach to online information essential for digital security.

Additionally, users are encouraged to enhance their digital literacy through the “Diia.Education” platform, which offers resources on cybersecurity and online protection.

A phishing website has been discovered impersonating the Ukrainian government app Diia, aiming to steal user data. The Diia team has blocked the site and emphasizes the importance of downloading apps only from official sources.
