Sochi Airport Faces Disruptions Amid Drone Attacks

Since June 5, Sochi Airport in Russia has been experiencing significant operational disruptions due to drone attacks attributed to Ukraine. Thousands of passengers have found themselves stranded in the resort city as flights have been delayed and canceled.

Reports indicate that numerous flights are either late or have been scrapped altogether, leading to overcrowding in the terminal. Passengers have expressed frustration, noting that available seating has become scarce, forcing many to sit or lie on the floor, using towels and travel mats for comfort.

According to the pro-Kremlin channel Mash, the airport has only been operational for a total of eight minutes during this period. The situation has raised concerns among travelers regarding their ability to leave the city.

In response to the ongoing disruptions, airport officials have stated that both airlines and airport services are working at heightened levels to restore normal operations. Despite the chaos, the press service claims that the atmosphere remains calm, asserting that all processes from check-in to boarding are proceeding as usual.
