In the early hours of June 6, Russian forces launched a significant aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying a total of 272 drones, including various models such as Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and loitering munitions known as Bandero. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted 249 of these unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), according to reports from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Ukrainian military described the operation as a coordinated effort involving aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups from the Defense Forces. This multifaceted approach aimed to counter the extensive drone attack.

As of 8:00 AM local time, preliminary data indicated that the air defense system had neutralized a substantial number of the incoming threats, with interceptions occurring across northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country. The Ukrainian military confirmed that 19 drones struck 11 locations, while debris from the intercepted drones fell in 13 different areas.

The assault marks another chapter in the ongoing conflict, with air raids continuing as several drones remained active in Ukrainian airspace. The situation underscores the persistent threat posed by drone warfare in the region and the ongoing efforts of Ukrainian forces to defend against these attacks.
