Russian Forces Target Turkish-Flagged Cargo Ship in Black Sea Attack

In the early hours of May 29, Russian forces launched a deliberate strike on a Turkish cargo vessel in the Black Sea, resulting in injuries and a fire on board.

The Ukrainian Navy reported that the vessel, identified as the ANT and flying the flag of Vanuatu, was en route from a port in Odesa Oblast to Turkey when it was attacked by a drone. The strike hit the ship’s superstructure, igniting a fire.

Two crew members sustained injuries during the incident. They were promptly evacuated by Ukrainian Navy boats and transported to a hospital for medical attention.

The fire was quickly contained, preventing further damage to the vessel.
