On Wednesday, May 27, a Russian artillery strike targeted a children’s playground in Kherson, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. The attack occurred in the city’s Koral neighborhood at approximately 5:30 PM, where families were enjoying time outdoors.
Local officials reported that a 36-year-old mother and her two daughters, aged 6 and 3, sustained serious injuries, including blast trauma and shrapnel wounds. All three are currently receiving medical attention.
In addition to the injuries, a man was killed in the attack, with authorities working to confirm his identity. A 50-year-old male victim suffered a closed head injury, a concussion, and shrapnel wounds to his leg.
Earlier the same day, Russian forces also shelled the Odesa region, damaging residential buildings, a postal facility, and a grocery store. The attack ignited several private vehicles, leading to a total of 11 injuries, with eight individuals requiring hospitalization. Among the injured were six men, three women, and two children aged 11 and 12.
