Ukrainian Forces Target Key Russian Military Installations Amid Ongoing Conflict

Ukrainian defense forces have reported successful strikes against several critical military targets in temporarily occupied territories, including the confirmed shutdown of the Syzran Oil Refinery in the Samara region of Russia.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, significant operations occurred on May 25 and into the night of May 26, targeting a command post in Ocheretine, Donetsk Oblast, and a regiment control point in Verkhnya Krynytsia, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Additional strikes were reported against drone control points in the areas of Nesterianka in Zaporizhzhia and Novohrodivka in Donetsk. Furthermore, Ukrainian forces targeted an enemy drone storage facility and a logistics supply depot near Novopetrykivka in Donetsk, as well as a logistics depot in the city of Donetsk.

In a related operation, a railway tank containing fuel and lubricants was struck in the Debaltseve area of Donetsk Oblast. The military confirmed that previous strikes had effectively halted operations at the Syzran Oil Refinery, which was targeted on May 21, 2026.

On May 25, the Yaroslavl production dispatch station was also hit, resulting in damage to equipment and storage tanks. Additionally, a radar station, the 1L125 Niobium-SV, was reported damaged on May 24 in Yarsk, Luhansk Oblast.

“Ukrainian defense forces will continue to take systematic measures to compel the Russian Federation to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine,” the statement noted.

Background:

  • The Moscow and Ryazan oil refineries also ceased operations following attacks on May 17 and May 15, respectively.
  • Nearly all major oil refineries in central Russia have been forced to stop or reduce fuel production due to Ukrainian drone strikes.

Ukrainian forces have conducted significant strikes against Russian military facilities, including the shutdown of the Syzran Oil Refinery. These actions are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt Russian operations in occupied territories.
