A 29-year-old man has been apprehended in Kyiv for allegedly stealing from damaged apartments following a Russian missile strike. According to the Kyiv police, the suspect was already wanted for property crimes in another region.
The attack on Horyva Lane resulted in significant damage to residential buildings, with windows and doors blown out by the force of the explosion. While residents sought shelter, the suspect reportedly took advantage of the situation to enter the compromised homes and steal personal belongings.
Law enforcement was alerted by a victim who reported the theft. Police quickly located the suspect and arrested him in the act of attempting another burglary in one of the affected apartments.
On the night of May 24, Ukraine experienced a large-scale assault from Russian forces, which included the launch of 600 drones and 90 missiles targeting various locations, primarily Kyiv. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed responsibility for the extensive drone and missile strikes, asserting that they targeted military management facilities, airbases, and defense industry enterprises in Ukraine.
