Fuel Shortages and Price Increases Reported in Occupied Sevastopol

Sevastopol, under Russian occupation, has been experiencing significant fuel shortages and rising prices since the evening of May 21, according to local Telegram channels and authorities.

The Telegram channel “ЧП Севастополь” reported that fuel prices have surged dramatically, with some grades exceeding 100 rubles per liter. Images shared by the channel show gas stations such as “АТАН” and “ТЕС” indicating either a lack of certain fuel types or increased prices.

Pavlo Ieno, the deputy head of the occupying administration, announced that the sale of gasoline would be restricted to a maximum of 20 liters per canister or vehicle in an effort to prevent artificial panic buying. He cited “certain logistical difficulties” as a contributing factor, which he implied was widely understood.

Ieno noted that while gasoline grades A-92, A-95, and diesel fuel are available in limited quantities at the city’s gas stations, new supplies are expected by the evening of May 22.

Mikhail Razvozhaev, the Russian-appointed head of Sevastopol, stated that authorities are working to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible. He confirmed that gasoline grades A-92 and A-95, as well as diesel, are available at some stations, though not all. He added that supplies of A-95 and diesel are anticipated later in the day, while diesel fuel is currently available only with vouchers.

Ukrainian defense forces, along with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Military Intelligence (HUR), have previously targeted oil depots in Feodosia and ferry logistics in Kerch.

Sevastopol is facing fuel shortages and escalating prices, prompting local authorities to implement restrictions on gasoline sales. Officials are working to address the supply issues amid ongoing military actions in the region.
