In the early hours of May 13, Russian forces intensified their drone assaults on various regions in Ukraine, resulting in fatalities, injuries, and significant infrastructure damage.
In Kharkiv, two districts were targeted during the attacks. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris from a downed drone landed on a roadway, while in the Holodna Hirka district, an infrastructure facility was hit, leading to a fire. No reports of injuries have emerged from these incidents.
Residents of Poltava reported disruptions to electricity and water supplies following the strikes. The shockwave from the explosions damaged windows in residential buildings, but local hospitals have not received any reports of injuries.
Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, confirmed that industrial infrastructure in the Odesa region was heavily targeted by drone strikes. Damage was noted at warehouses and service facilities, although firefighters quickly contained the resulting blazes. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties.
The Dnipropetrovsk region experienced the most severe impact, with local authorities reporting that eight individuals lost their lives and eleven others sustained injuries due to the attacks. Over the course of the day, Russian forces launched nearly 30 strikes across three districts in the area.
In the Nikopol district, communities including Nikopol, Marhanets, Myrivska, Pokrovsk, and Chervonohryhorivka were hit. Infrastructure, private homes, and vehicles sustained damage, with three individuals injured. A 16-year-old boy is currently hospitalized in serious condition, while another 16-year-old and a 21-year-old are receiving outpatient care.
In the Synelnykove district, the Dubovykivska and Mykolaivska communities were targeted, resulting in damage to over twenty houses and the deaths of two people. Additionally, nine homes were damaged in a prior attack earlier in the day, which resulted in four fatalities and another four injuries, with three individuals hospitalized, including a 50-year-old man in critical condition.
In Kryvyi Rih, industrial facilities, infrastructure, and a gas pipeline were damaged in the strikes. Two individuals were killed, and four others were injured as a result of the attack.
The recent wave of drone strikes by Russian forces across Ukraine has led to multiple casualties and extensive damage, particularly in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Local authorities are assessing the impact as residents cope with the aftermath of the attacks.
