Ukraine to Complete Road Repairs by June 1

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that all ongoing repairs on public roads will be completed by June 1. As of early May, significant work has already been finished on key international highways.

Svyrydenko highlighted that the plan includes the repair of 10 million square meters of road surface, with a focus on roads that experience the highest traffic, have sustained damage, and are crucial for logistics, defense, evacuation, and community operations.

The State Special Transport Service is actively working on repairs within a 40-kilometer zone near the conflict line, covering 59 sections that total over 1,200 kilometers. Local roads will also receive attention, with the government allocating an additional 3.5 billion UAH for their repair.

Serhiy Sukhomlyn, head of the State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, stated that approximately 50 billion UAH is needed for various road repairs, with 12-14 billion UAH earmarked specifically for international and national roads, which will be prioritized for restoration.

Ukraine is set to finalize repairs on all public roads by June 1, focusing on high-traffic routes and essential logistics. The government is investing significantly to ensure these repairs are completed efficiently.
