In the early hours of May 8, Russian forces launched a significant drone assault involving 67 attack drones, including models such as Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and imitation drones dubbed Parody.
According to preliminary reports from the Ukrainian Air Force, by 8:00 AM, air defense units successfully intercepted and neutralized 56 of these hostile drones across southern and eastern regions of Ukraine.
Details indicate that 11 attack drones struck eight locations, with debris from the intercepted drones landing in seven different areas.
The defense operation was carried out by a combination of aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned aerial systems, and mobile fire groups from Ukraine’s defense forces.
Ukrainian air defense successfully thwarted a major drone attack from Russian forces, intercepting the majority of the incoming threats. The operation involved multiple defense units and highlighted the ongoing aerial conflict in the region.
