Ukraine’s economy experienced a slight decline in the first quarter of 2026, according to preliminary estimates.
From January to March 2026, the real gross domestic product (GDP) fell by 0.7% compared to the previous quarter, after adjusting for seasonal factors. Year-over-year, this represents a decrease of 0.5% when compared to the same period in 2025.
The State Statistics Service indicated that this preliminary GDP assessment is based on initial statistical data reflecting changes in production volumes across various economic sectors.
Finalized GDP figures for the first quarter of 2026 are expected to be released in June.
