Spring Blooms at Kyiv’s Pyrohiv Museum: A Seasonal Attraction for Visitors

As spring settles in, the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine, commonly known as the Pyrohiv Open-Air Museum, is drawing crowds eager to enjoy the vibrant scenery and updated exhibits. This past weekend marked the arrival of warmer weather in Kyiv, prompting many residents and tourists to explore the outdoors and soak in the sunshine.

The museum has become a favored destination, showcasing an array of lush greenery and blooming fruit trees, including cherries, sweet cherries, and apricots. Soon, apple and pear trees will also be in full bloom, enhancing the picturesque landscape.

Recently, the museum has refreshed several exhibits, notably restoring a mill located in the Crimean Tatar zone. Additionally, a restroom facility along the museum’s circular route has been renovated and can also serve as a bomb shelter.

Visiting Hours and Admission Fees

According to the museum’s official website, the Pyrohiv Museum is open daily from May to August, welcoming visitors from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. However, guests can stroll the grounds until dusk. During the summer months, indoor exhibits are accessible from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, though they are closed for viewing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The full admission ticket costs 200 UAH, while students, seniors, and individuals with disabilities (groups 2 and 3) pay a reduced fee of 100 UAH. Children of preschool age, combat veterans, and several other categories of visitors can enter free of charge.

A Year-Round Destination

The Pyrohiv Open-Air Museum is a year-round attraction, offering unique experiences in every season. In winter, visitors can enjoy expansive snowy landscapes, while autumn brings a riot of colorful foliage. During the summer, vast fields of wheat add to the museum’s charm.
