Russian Drone Attack Leaves Damage in Chornomorsk, Ukraine

On May 3, 2026, Chornomorsk, located in the Odesa region, was struck by a drone attack attributed to Russian forces, resulting in significant destruction and casualties. Local authorities reported that 35 private homes were damaged, with one completely destroyed and another severely affected.

Emergency services are actively working to address the aftermath of the attack. Repairs are underway, including the boarding up of broken windows and doors, while assessments of the damage continue. The city’s critical infrastructure remains unaffected, with electricity, water, and gas supplies operating normally.

According to the Odesa Regional Military Administration, humanitarian assistance has been provided to 33 households, including essential supplies and building materials. Some affected residents have also received social and psychological support.

The attack resulted in the deaths of two individuals, a 38-year-old man and woman, with five others injured. Among the injured are two elderly women aged 64 and 72, and three men aged 29, 56, and 69, two of whom have been hospitalized. The fatalities included a truck driver who was near the impact site outside the port area.

Air raid sirens were activated in the Odesa district at 12:17 AM, indicating the approach of a drone group over the Black Sea. The alert was lifted at 1:36 AM.
