Ukrainian Air Defense Neutralizes 175 Drones Amid Major Attack on May 3

On May 3, Ukrainian forces successfully intercepted or neutralized 175 enemy drones and five missiles during a significant assault on the country.

The attack, which occurred between 08:30 and 18:30, involved two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and five Kh-59/69 guided aviation missiles launched by Russian forces.

Additionally, a total of 234 strike drones were deployed, including models such as Shahed, Gerber, Italmas, and imitation drones known as Parody.

Ukrainian air defense units, including aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups, were engaged in repelling the aerial assault.

By 18:30, the defense efforts had resulted in the destruction or suppression of five missiles and 175 enemy drones across northern, southern, and central Ukraine.

As the attack continued, reports indicated that numerous hostile drones remained in the airspace.

Details regarding the impacts and consequences of falling debris are still being confirmed.

Earlier on the same day, Russian forces targeted civilian infrastructure and residential areas. Notably, missile strikes hit Dnipro, damaging a dormitory and injuring over ten individuals, with one confirmed fatality. Additionally, an attack on Zaporizhzhia resulted in a fire, with reports of a child among the injured.

Ukrainian air defense forces effectively countered a major attack on May 3, neutralizing numerous drones and missiles. The assault targeted civilian areas, resulting in injuries and damage to infrastructure.
