Russian Strikes Near Dnipro Injure Civilians, Including Children

On the morning of May 3, Russian forces launched an attack near a gas station in the Krynychanska community of the Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in multiple injuries, including a child and a pregnant woman.

The strike caused a truck to catch fire and damaged a bus carrying approximately 40 children. Fortunately, the children had already exited the vehicle before the attack, and they have since been evacuated to a safe location where psychological support is being provided.

A 10-year-old boy was among the injured and has been hospitalized in serious but stable condition. In total, five adults were also injured, including a 21-year-old pregnant woman, while a 40-year-old woman is reported to be in critical condition. The health status of the other injured adults is being assessed as moderate.

Mykola Lukashuk, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, indicated that the children on the bus were en route to a recreational trip in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. He stated, “Currently, 40 children from the bus are in the Zatyshnyanska community. The community is preparing hot meals and waiting for parents from Zaporizhzhia. Those who cannot be picked up today will stay overnight in the community. The local leaders are present to support the children and stabilize their situation.”

This attack follows a series of drone strikes reported in Kharkiv on May 2, where multiple gas stations were targeted, resulting in injuries. On May 1, Russian forces also struck five districts in Kharkiv, with confirmed hits on gas stations and additional casualties. The State Emergency Service reported that fires broke out at two gas stations in the Slobidskyi district and Chuhuiv, but were quickly extinguished.

A recent Russian attack in Dnipropetrovsk injured several civilians, including children, as they were targeted near a gas station. The incident highlights ongoing violence in the region, with previous drone strikes reported in Kharkiv.
