Blaze Entertainment Unveils Retro Handheld Consoles Inspired by Classic PCs

Blaze Entertainment has announced the release of two new portable gaming devices, The Spectrum Handheld and The C64 Handheld, which pay homage to iconic home computers from the 1980s.

The design of these devices closely mirrors the aesthetics of the original ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64, appealing to collectors and nostalgic gamers alike. While budget emulators can run classic games at a lower price point, Blaze aims to attract consumers with a focus on premium quality and design.

Both consoles share similar technical specifications tailored for modern gaming needs:

  • Display: A 4.3-inch screen with a resolution of 800×480 pixels.
  • Controls: A D-pad with customizable buttons, action buttons, and additional functional keys.
  • Audio: Stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
  • Battery Life: Up to three hours of gameplay, with USB-C charging.

Each handheld console comes pre-loaded with a collection of 25 retro classics. The C64 Handheld features titles such as Boulder Dash, California Games, and Impossible Mission, while The Spectrum Handheld includes iconic games like Manic Miner and The Hobbit.

Users can expand their game library using a microSD card and can connect external peripherals like keyboards and joysticks via USB for a more authentic gaming experience.

Pre-orders for both The C64 and The Spectrum are currently available through Funstock, priced at $129.99 each, with shipments expected to begin in October 2026.
