Ukraine Imposes New Sanctions on Russian Entities Involved in Child Abductions

Ukraine has announced a new set of sanctions targeting Russian individuals and entities implicated in the abduction of Ukrainian children. President Volodymyr Zelensky made the announcement, detailing the measures aimed at those facilitating the removal of children from temporarily occupied territories.

According to Zelensky, the sanctions list includes individuals involved in the destruction of children’s identities and efforts to conceal them from their families and Ukrainian authorities. He specified that the list comprises officials from the Russian state system, collaborators in the occupied areas, and propagandists.

Additionally, the sanctions extend to 23 vessels used by Russia for oil exports. Zelensky noted that some of these ships are already subject to sanctions from partner countries. He emphasized the importance of synchronizing Ukraine’s sanctions with those of its allies to enhance their effectiveness.

The president also indicated that Ukraine is preparing to introduce another significant sanctions package in the near future, aimed at further addressing these issues.
